A Labor of Love – My Remix of Scatman’s World.

Hello fans! I am pleased to release a new remix. When I was first exploring EDM music, one of the first songs to get my attention was “Scatman’s World” by Scatman John. The fusion of Eurodance, John’s spoken word style rapping and the cool little scat breaks were exciting to me. I couldn’t help but enjoy the song.

Now, almost 25 years after his death, I am releasing “Ode to John” my remix of Scatman’s World. I hope you enjoy it. Sorry, I am not rapping on this (even though I literally know every word).

Another Final Fantasy Remix!

Been trying to finish some projects that I have had sitting in my studio queue for a while. I thought of what other songs I would like to remix from my favorite video games and returned to my favorite game of all time – Final Fantasy IV (FF2 in the US). One of the most insane and unstable songs was the one that played while you fight the final boss, Zermous.

I took the original version of the song and started working on it trying to figure out what I might do to give it a new sound and a different feel. While experimenting, I threw some dubstep elements into it and played around. The sound was PERFECT. So, I have officially remixed the song as a dubstep cover. Enjoy “Zerostep”.

Finally, Releasing another Remix

Hello friends! I know you have seen a lot of remixes lately. This is not because I just redid them a day ago and shared them. I have about ten remixes in my studio now that I am working on. It just so happens that I got through a few recently, so I decided to share them. This one I actually posted a teaser for about 6 months ago. However, I finally got it out the door.

One of the most iconic songs on the Chrono Trigger soundtrack is the “Zeal Kingdom” theme, also known as “Corridors of Time.” It features a harp arpeggio that will make almost every SNES gamer get goosebumps. I offer you my remix of “Corridors of Time” which I have entitled “With Zeal.” Enjoy!

Requiem of a Fantasy – New Track!

Hey there friends! I hope this finds you well. Despite the demands of twin babies, full time employment, transitioning to a new job and various other things, I managed to spend some time in the studio to do a project that is a labor of love. You see, one of my hobbies for many years has been playing video games but when the game systems got more and more complicated and the games longer and longer, I stuck with my NES and  SNES games. As a result, I have become somewhat of a retro gamer (see my RGB Blog).

One of my favorite games of all time is the Super Nintendo classic “Final Fantasy II” (FF4 in Japan). It has so many great elements in it that set the stage for so many of the RPG’s to come and really set the tone for the future of the Final Fantasy series as a whole. You can read why I love this game so much by checking out my post about it on the RetroGamer blog.

The first song you ever here… literally the way you are introduced to the game is with a song track that essentially consists of a rising and falling harp arpeggio. This song also plays any time you are in a “Crystal Room” in the game. The actual name per Nobuo Uematsu (the song’s composer) is simply called “Prelude” but it has also been called “Requiem of the Crystals” and even “The Final Fantasy Theme”. It is this song that I have decided to remix.
