Announcing – Subdementia

The DJ has been very busy in the studio the past few months and you guys get to reap the rewards. I have created a new track for you all to enjoy! My newest track is an experiment in the world of drum and bass and is my first ever use of a vocals for drops. I promised myself when I first began writing music as an electronic artist that I would not create cliche music with corny Sci-fi movie quotes and I am not starting today. There is only one vocal sound clip and it is something much less obscure.

Submitted for my fans to review, please check out Subdementia, the 3rd track on my upcoming EP, Currents.

Yet ANOTHER new track! – Windrider

The DJ is in the house and cooking up some great stuff! I decided to stay home instead of do anything fancy out tonight. Also, my beloved took the kids to see their aunt so I am home alone. After dropping Polysonic, I couldn’t help but keep my hands in the studio and I am GLAD I did!

By taking another piecemail track I had shuttered for several months, I began to feel a new vibe coming on and I created a flowing 145bpm track named ‘Windrider’ because it really personifies the excitement, calmness and fear of what it might feel like to ride atop the wind like a leaf. I used a great deal of filtering and gating mixed with some other techniques. I think the end result speaks for itself.

I hope you enjoy my second new track off my recently named second EP – Currents. Take a listen to Windrider! DJ 6i Out!

New Music – Polysonic

I know it has been over 3 years but AT LAST I got my act together and completed a new track. I teased you with it 5 days ago but I finally have it ready. Check out the latest song from DJ6i – Polysonic!

In this track I took several new elements into use that I had previously been experimenting with including phased quantitization, multi relays and extensive crossfades. I hope you enjoy the new track as much as I enjoyed making it. It is only a basic example of the amazing things my latest studio application is capable of producing.

Enjoy! DJ6i out!

The Roots Double Release Party!

The ending of Roots is officially completed and I have also gone through and finished the mastering on both versions. I do hope that this gives you all a taste of where I come from! I also invite you guys to share your opinoins on which version of the song you liked better. So without further ado:

DJ6i – Roots (Original) – The original, synthed version of the song as I originally wrote it.

DJ6i – Roots (Unplugged) – The non synthed version of Roots that was created as a reminder of where I came from and as a semi-gift for my sister in law.

Enjoy!

Double Header!

Wow! It has been a busy week or two! I have been busily working on my song Insomniac, I have added a full fledge desk to my studio space instead of the rather off balance table I was using and I am really hoping to get some Christmas music done unless I get inspired to do some more of my original work. Today is a special release because I am offering you not one but TWO songs to listen to.

The first is my new track “Insomniac” which came about last Friday when I was bored and wanting to play in the studio. I started out at about 12:30AM and was just going to experiment. I looked up at the clock a little later and realized that it was 3:30AM so my little experiment had lasted 3 hours! I felt it was aptly named “Insomniac” and I think you will get the feel for that name when you hear it. It is probably the edgiest of all of my work to date and it is also the first track where I have been obsessive about making sure my mix stayed cool (aka nothing hitting over 0.1 DB above the limit on my mixer). I think the song turned out really good but you be the judge: DJ6i – Insomniac.

The other present I offer is my version of The Carol of the Bells. This haunting hit has long been a favorite of mine as I love the use of key and 1/2 key tone changes that the composer used. It is also one of the hardest songs to find a version of that I don’t really like. I downloaded a public domain copy of the sheet music and used it with my Logic Express Score input screen (as opposed to the piano roll) and the result was a nice track that holds true to the original hit without being vanilla. I have actually had this one ready for a while but was not going to upload it until I had the chance to complete more Christmas songs but most of my wonderful beta listeners had told me that they wanted to see it on the net so they can download it. What can I say? I caved into the pressure: DJ6i – Carol of the Bells.

Happy Friday!
