Downtime

It has been a few weeks since I have made any updates and so I feel it’s time to explain where I have been. It turns out that on Feb. 15 my family added a new member, our newborn baby boy. Since those days, my life has revolved around this child and keeping the bill money coming in and I have had little time to work on production. This is likely the way that things will be for at least another month or two because I normally work on my music at night when the rest of my family is asleep but for any of you that have a newborn, you know that there is no such thing as sleep for a while.

On the other side of this coin, I am trying to get more practice in on my musical instruments. I have been teaching myself more things on the guitar since it was my first love and I am teaching myself more musical styles on the piano so that I can produce even more great melodies. The down side is that these things take a lot of time and while I have my newborn still not sleeping through the night and the need to watch him for a few hours so my lovely wife can actually get some uninterrupted sleep… time is not exactly something I have a whole lot of currently.

But while you wait, there are a few things you guys can look forward to when I fully resume operations. First of all, I am almost done re-recording AngelSpun in Logic. If you have been following my production line, you will see that I created AngelSpun in LMMS and although it is a quality recording, it lacks the polished mixing that I only learned in Logic Pro. At the time I paused production, I was about 90% through the remastering. You can look forward to hearing AngelSpun like you have never heard it before.

Also, after a long amount of consideration, I have decided to drop DarkMind from my current song list. The song is certainly interesting  but the quality of the production was very low and although I have tried to clean it up I simply can’t get it to sound as clean as I would like. Because of this, I am going to completely re-write the song in Logic and see if I can capture the same heavy sound without sacrificing quality. That being said, if you decide to download my EP when it comes out on iTunes or Amazon, you will not find that particular song on there. It will still be available on SoundCloud but only for listening, not for downloading.
